One of the terrorists who hijacked Air India in1999 Killed in Karachi
One of the terrorists who hijacked the Air India plane Zahoor Mistry alias Zahid Akhund, in 1999, has been killed in Karachi, Pakistan. He was reportedly killed in his house in an attack by two bike-borne killers.
Indian Airlines IC-814 hijacker Zahoor Mistry alias Zahid Akhund was running furniture business in Pakistan. Jaish top leadership were at his funeral. It's said that, Pakistan media were asked to not to report this incident by most wanted terrorists shelter Pakistan administration.
In 1999, the hijackers kept the 176 passengers of the IC-814 aircraft hostage for seven days. The flight took off from Kathmandu and was headed to Delhi but was hijacked and taken to Kandahar in Afghanistan.
To realease the terrorists like, Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Maulana Masood Azhar, leader of defunct terror group Al Umar Mujahideen, Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar, and British-born al-Qaeda leader Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh — who were in Indian prisons, the hijacking of the Indian Airlines flight was plotted.
